Rafting and Arches National Park

On Friday the 13th we headed to the Colorado river and met up with the our rafting guides, the coolest people in Utah. We separated our whole group into two separate groups. We rafted till lunch with a smooth calm ride, no rapids. The food they made us each day was amazing. We ate lunch and then headed back onto the river to a hiking spot just ahead. We took a 30 minute hike up the canyon to look at some petroglyphs then headed back to our rafts. Our camping site was just ahead, but we had to go over our first official rapid to get there. We got to camp and then set up camp and did some very interesting activities. A bunch of us slept on the beach and watched the stars. We woke up to a very loud bang and headed back onto the river. We went through a bunch of class 3 and 4 rapids and had a blast. We had many chances to swim in the river, or should I say float. We then arrived at the place where the bus was supposed to meet us. When the bus finally came we were all pretty much dieing from the extreme heat. We had about a 5 hour trip to Moab Utah were we showered, shopped, and ate at a restaurant. Then we went to arches national park, our camping spot for the night, where we star gazed for most of the night . The next day we met up with Ranger Bob our tour guide. He took us through a section of arches and showed us arches and told us many stories. It was incredibly hot. We found a place where we could chill. We sang for ranger bob and then crawled through a small arch. That time in arches was very interesting and educational. I learned a lot and so did a lot of other people as well. Once we finished our tour of arches we ate lunch, tried cooking an egg on the hood of the van, and then headed back on the road to salt lake.
