Fifth Annual Lewis and Clark Symposium, Lewis-Clark State College, Lewiston, Idaho

We stayed at a campground at Hell's Gate for the two nights during the symposium, making our group the "Flames At Hell's Gate" (pun by Lars Akerson).

Ethan listens intently to the Nez Perce speaker at the second day of the symposium, which was a field trip day.

Two Nez Perce women stand dressed in traditional Indian garb at the pow-wow in a school's gymnasium.

Becca and Heidi both sport their blue rainjackets to block out the cold wind that we battled on the field trip.

We learned about a Nez Perce horse-breeding program, in which Appaloosa horses are bred with Akhal-Tekes (from Turkmenistan) to attain a breed that closely resembles that of the original Nez Perce horses.
