On Friday evening, June 24, 2005, Southwest
students presented their PowerPoint stacks on Immigration and the
Mexico/US border. In groups of students that represented their
home churches, students were asked to create a stack of 10-20 slides
with pictures and information that answers this question: "What
are the key immigration issues facing the United States and Mexico and
how should the church respond?" We set up the whiteboard
against a tree, ran an electric cord for the computer and projector, and sat on
chairs or relaxed on sleeping bags at the Stephen F. Austin State Park
in eastern Texas.
